Ah yes, "dog town"--which sounds quite awful but is arguably the most 
gorgeous area of the SP basecamp (which is saying a lot!): cool fragrant 
ground shaded by grand old trees...so much room no one is parked on top of 
anyone else...

Luckily it isn't far from dog town to the outdoor redwood tree showers and 
fabulous food of the "main' basecamp.

And then there are the miles of wild empty beach, and great food and 
cappucino at the cafes, in Davenport, a short drive out of dog town....

Ouch!  Next year we're going for sure!
