When I can feel my horse about to do a BIG shy, I holler "stop!" or "Cut it
out!" really loud. It seems to draw his attention away from what he's
spooking at and focus it on me. Granted, this is a mature, seasoned horse,
whom I believe does this type of shying because he's a bit of a brat. I
wouldn't do it with a greenie.
