[RC] What the Abstracts Say...and Don't Say - katswig@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Jonni said:

It is too bad that any questions you raised, were not answered
directly by Tom, with his OPINION, but instead you were given
more "abstracts" to read.

Actually, since one of the other things I said in my post that the most
valuable information Tom can provide is a bibliography and that he can't be
counted on to reliably report what the studies actually say, telling me
where to go for more information is exactly what I asked for, and was quite
happy to get.

I haven't read them yet (I haven't even tried to find them yet)
because...well...I'm kinda busy (it took me almost two weeks to get around
to looking at the last lot), but rest assured, before I start feeding large
quantities of beet pulp to my foals (I don't have any right now) or trying
to stuff it down my endurance horse's throat during competition that I
will....or I might ask Susan if she has read them, since I DO have faith in
her ability to not read into texts things that aren't there.

Incidentally, not reading things in to texts that aren't there is quite
difficult. I have been guilty of it myself on occasion, and it is a common
cause of misunderstanding, flaming, etc. on all internet groups.

This is the other reason I took the time to write my first post, and is why
I sent my last response to Tom's comment about railing against nasty posts.
It wasn't to be nasty to Tom, but rather to warn everybody to be careful
not to read into texts, things that aren't there and were never meant to be
there by the author.
