Re: [RC] Shk Mo's wife for FEI President - Maryanne GabbaniHM has been known for a fairly casual attitude about rule following in the past. As someone who has put in my wifedom time, I would hate to be married to and (more important) dependent on someone who is likely to cause me trouble in an elected position in the future. I don't want to say "conflict of interest", but I wouldn't be in her shoes for all the tea in China. Can you imagine the scene if she were to have to say, "Well Mohamed darling, as the President of the FEI and the keeper of the equestrian welfare flame, I do believe that you shouldn't really be doing that in endurance races."??? Around here they'd say that this is a classic "film hindi" in the making. You might argue that as President of the FEI she might be able to change things, but my experience over about 30 odd years as a wife is that husbands (particularly middle-aged Arab husbands) are very much a WYSIWYG situation. They don't come with optional fittings. I wish her the best. Like I said, a good horsewoman and a decent woman.
