[RC] Temperature Variance in Working Horses - Mollie Krumlaw-Smith

There are some gadgets out there to measure body temp during competition.  I had one years ago when I was riding a bit faster.

I know one of the items I purchased ended up being from Radio Shack and I think it was really just an outdoor thermometer with some silicon around it to keep it water proof.  The sensor went under the saddle pad, I put mine about three inches behind the shoulder blade, and three inches below the spine.

After some time I just got used to the *feel* of my horse and knew how warm he was by touch.
