[RC] crossing water for the first time alone - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: BETH caglehead10@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I just got My Horse back from the Trainer a month ago. The Trainer had worked on crossing water with a Buddy Horse AND ponying My Horse . I have also taken this Horse across water following another Horse since getting Him back, sunday we took Our First Solo Trail ride and came up to a Stream that we had done following another Horse, But as everyone knows, things Look much different when Your Green Horse is all By Himself . this Horse was trained with Resistance Free Training, After calmly getting Him to the edge of the water and realizing that He was not going to go in , I decided to just get off and lead Him thru , remounted on the other side and then turned around and asked Him to go back thru the stream which He did . After go about our business on the rest of the ride, we came back to the stream again and He very calmly crossed the water without any hesitation . I don,t think He would of been so calm had I fought with Him the first time.
