[RC] aluminum trailers - safety - Ridecamp Guest

I am planning on replacing my bumper pull with a gooseneck soon and wondered 
how aluminum (frame & skin) trailers fair in wrecks compared to all steel 
trailers. Is there any actual data on this or minimum requirements the trailer 
manufacturers have to meet?
