[RC] to finish is to win?or not??? - DreamweaverLike Jonni said, most riders are not in it for the money, and their horses are not a commodity that can be easily replaced. If they ask for too much or push too hard (because their horse wasn't prepared), they learn that what they did was not right as far as their horses wellfare is concerned. Usually the riders that are dragging or pushing or pulling their horses to finish at the back of the pack started out more up in the front, and end up in the back as a result of a 'bonk'. Since even that happens so rarely, I think the real problem is not whether or not the horse finished and completed the ride, even looking good at the final vet check -- but the truth be told the next day, or the next week, or even on the next ride (training or competition). For some riders who can't figure it out, we should give this to them: http://www.equicizer.com/images/equicizer.com/default.aspx?contentName=Home%20Page&news=1/ ;)Karen =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
