I was not claiming that you do not carefully read the literature.

I was merely stating that your ridecamp posts will quote a published finding,
with little analysis, only when the authority agrees with you. If a source does
not agree with you, we are assured of receiving a complete analysis of why the
study was flawed.>:

So you'd prefer that I argue both sides of every question in posts to Ridecamp,
even when I know where the preponderance of the evidence points? Only a
scientists like yourself would read through paragraph after paragraph of
temporizing prose that comes to no point and leads to a muddle of
misconceptions.

The academics can do that. I'm using the science to find practical solutions to
immediate problems. If a concept from that process works, great. If it doesn't,
you read more science to find out why. What I say here is based on what I know
to be true--not from just one paper.

Of course, just a few years ago, I KNEW that lactic adic as public enemy number
one--just as everybody else reading the literature did--everything pointed in
that direction. A lot of erroneous science is still being produced today,
basied on that major misconception. but when the facts change, I can adapt, and
rather quickly, particularly when the facts come in from the field.

I've already invited anyone to cite science contrary to my thoughts, and you're
certainly welcome to, too. No prob. If we both have full texts of the papers,
we can go through the academic dance or criticizing methods, materials, and
sample sizes--that's always a lot of fun and you can make a career out of it.
But, not my cup of tea. I'm looking for solutions that I can apply to realworld
problems, tomorrow. So far, I'm doing ok with my approach, but you're welcome
to yours.
