[RC] Tom's GL - Dot WigginsI've used it several years ago for a hard keeper horse. If I gave it before the ride he was a basket case at least for the first loop. If started at the first vet check, given before any other food or e-lytes, he would eat and drink better. Given post ride, he maintained weight better. No matter how much good feed I could get him to eat, with out the GL, he would lose weight for several days after a ride. I was just getting the knowledge of how to use it for this horse when his owner came back from overseas so he went home. He could have benefited even more if I had gottem a little smarter quicker. My current horse is working nowhere near her abilities, so needs little support beyond good hay, a little grain, and some basic vitamin/minerals with some extra E-Se in our deficient area. However, I use the GL post ride during multi-day events, and she flies through all days as if she hadn't been anywhere yet. (By weight tape she holds or gains) One day events are so easy for her I don't think there is any benefit. If I was riding longer miles and for bigger goals I would use the GL during and after all rides. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
