[RC] CTR is what you get out of it - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: kate kate.kearby@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== There's no silly rules in riding horses, and my horses some of which i've tried to take in the show ring would tell you they are CTR horses. I've got about 2000 miles in NATRC but only a couple LDs in AERC. I don't generally do well in NATRC horsemanship, but i try, and the better i get the easier the ride is on my horse. The more my horses do in NATRC the more handy they become as working fit trail horses. So for the tiny ride fee of around $70 you get two days of riding in beautiful places, not going too fast to enjoy the scenery. about 6 vet checks and a trail horsemanship clinic and a bunch of great fun people to hang out with. Great place for beginners in any field of horse ownership at the novice level, wish every one who owned a horse knew how to camp and care for their horse over the miles. so CTR is what you get out of it, it's up to you. And not walking your horse forward on trial, CTRs aren't that stressful on a horse that you need to relieve them by walking, and it is a way to keep things equal to all horses. I never understood AERC and the 3 weight classes when you don't even have to be on the horse at all if you are a good runner???? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
