[RC] To Bob Morris - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: ti Tivers@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== You will find, if you are interested, that the number of equine fatalities attributable to endurance competition is extremely small, well below the actuarial numbers for normal field deaths. Bob Morris AERC Director, Northwest Region AERC> Gee, Bob, you missed the perfect opportunity to provide genuine facts: the actual numbers. Precisely how many horses have died while participating in US endurance races over, say, the past 10 years--and is the death rate getting better or worse? I'll decide for myself what those numbers mean, if you don't mind. If you don't provide those numbers, then I'll be left to suspect that they are a deep dark secret--and you wouldn't want that. Set me straight. Pass on the facts, if you actually have them at hand. If not, perhaps a little research on your part is in order so that you can substantiate your claim that I've made a horrible mistake. Prove that, and I'll apologise. How many died? How did they die (just standing around doing nothing, hit by lightening, etc.)? I'm ready for new information at any time. ti =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
