[RC] green ribbons and such - mentors - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Diane Roby diane_roby2002@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I'm a newbie and will consider myself that way for quite some more time. I've done 2 LD's with my pony but I'm still nervous about going to rides and possibly making a fatal error. I like the idea of a green ribbon or some other way to identify myself because I'm really not comfortable walking up to people I don't know and asking questions. I'm always concerned that I might be interrupting or otherwise disrupting their ride. At the L&S ride in June there were two nice ladies that let me tag along with them during the first loop and if it wasn't for their presence I would have pulled during the first 15 minutes of the ride. On the second loop I was lucky enough to literally "find" another extremely nice lady to ride with as I had gone the wrong way up the hill not once but twice and between us we found the ribbons we'd missed. In both these cases just having someone who at least appeared to know what they were doing (just kidding) was enough to get me through it. I think knowing that there was someone willing to at least guide me through the longer distances would be incentive enough for me to try them. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
