I am a new rider too (well been lurking for years but haven't done a ride yet)
and have been reading all the posts and finding them very interesting. I had a
thought that might or might not work but would make it easier for the
experienced people to know who might need their help. What if new riders were
assigned a ribbon to wear, maybe tied to their horse or their arm or something.
It would take awhile to catch on but once it was universal (like the kicker,
biter and stallion ribbons) it would make us easier to spot... you know other
than the lost and confused look we'll be wearing lol. It would work for people
moving up in distances too that aren't quite sure what they're doing.
