Re: [RC] [RC] Why they Don't Do 100s - Dabney FinchI agree with Lynne, but from an entirely different perspective:If you're competing versus finishing, 100s are every bit as "intense" as a competitive 50. Even the speeds are comparable. The main difference is not the level of intensity, it's that your horse has to be in great condition and strategy, luck and horsemanship count much more than they do in a 50. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynne Glazer" <anyone@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <OTTOWY@xxxxxxx>; "ridecamp ((E-mail))" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2005 4:27 PM Subject: Re: [RC] [RC] Why they Don't Do 100s That dog won't hunt. There's nothing more intense about 50s unless you're competitive, or if the vet checks are more crowded with a big pack. I try to ride my own ride and NOT get caught up with the faster pace. Which includes getting off and walking when my horse is frantic to catch the others. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
