[RC] dogs in camp - GarnerTMy husband and I really like dogs; we have two labs. We have one that is too territorial to take. The other one went once. She tore up my bale of oat hay looking for something. She was also a pain for us to watch & take care of, even though she was on a leash. We decided she should stay at home, keep the other dog company, and help guard our house! It's been over a year since my husband was attacked and bitten by a dog at a ride. My husband was helping two friends carry their crew bags to their trailers. This dog was on a very long rope. It came out from under a trailer and lit into my husband. It bit, drew blood, & tore his pants. If he hadn't had the crew bags for protection, it might have been worse. I vote no dogs unless you are 100% sure your dog won't bite. I understand that if you're traveling alone, you feel better with a dog for protection, but people need to realize that you can be sued if your dog bites someone. Also, you don't want your dog to hurt someone. Luckily for the people who brought their dog to the ride, we're not the type of people who would file a lawsuit. We also would not want to cause problems for the ride manager of the ride. God bless them!
