Re: [RC] Amazing 1st 100--Another One - Barbara McCrary
While riding Tevis many years ago, I had
hooked up with Barbara White at Michigan Bluff, and she helped me enormously in
pacing so I could finish. While crossing the river below Rucka-Chucky, I
dozed off. I remembered hearing voices far, far away, and another voice
closer. I discovered that it was Barbara's voice and others, far away
(about 50 feet ahead of me) and mine, up close. I laughed and told Barbara
how I had felt, and she said, "That's OK....I used to see little green men in
the trees."
My first
100 was Pacific Crest in So. Oregon and I dozed off in the saddle a few times
near the end. Before then I never really believed that anyone could do
that and not fall off.
