I beg to differ on this!  That shredded BP soaks up a LOT of water!!!  If you don't believe so, just take a batch of BP shreds, measure out a certain amount of water, and dump it in and stir.  You'll be amazed at how much of the water disappears.  Bet you have to add some more in order to have any liquid left unabsorbed.
