a neighbor of Wendel Robie and was mentored by him as a teenager.
Hal wrote a great book about the Western
States Trail..I think he is currently in Dubai however, but I am not

information for a newspaper story about endurance riding
Hi Everyone,
I am writing a story about the lifestyle behind endurance riding for The
Portland Oregonian. The story is running next week as a cover for
the paper's Features Section.
It is hard to believe -- but some of the editors there had no IDEA people
rode as much as we do. :) So they think it is a great story.
So anyway, as part of the background for the story, I want to talk about
how endurance riding started, and why it is so popular. Does anyone have a
referrence for me that I can access easily -- hopefully on the internet?
