LOL I bought a mini donkey about 4 months ago. Rascal wouldn't come near, 
neck arched , snorting, till I got between him and the donkey and said,'it's 
ok, come on"- gave me his "are you sure, can I trust you ",look and 
approached slowly, stretching his neck as far as he could  while keeping his 
feet planted. Course my 3 yr old half arab, just trots up and gets 
aquainted, no big deal-- my mare  of course she keep a good 100 ft. for a 
while. But then we brought our older tb home, he didn't give it a second 
look.. guess they had  donkeys at the races, when he was younger....
