[RC] 2005 Ride Calendar - hope lundquistHow beautiful. I like that one with all the Horses doubled up with their reflection.
The one one that brought most memories is the serene look of NO HANDS BRIDGE. I thought
of Smokie Killen. When Smokie died his very good friend Diane Marquard (msp) brought Smokie's Ashes to the bridge. A groups of Smokie's friends gathered on the bridge and we each took a hand of his ashes and tossed into the American River.
For any of you who have not yet done the TEVIS, that is one of the bridges you will have to cross before Auburn. Thanks B Glazer. My favorite
When I compared the calendar to a previous one 1972-1997 (25 year) AERC Calendar some suggestions could be made. That year the calendar was black & white. The Vendors and Ride Managers put it together I believe. Each month was an ad for something. Some had horses like Sportack. The most unique feature is that the dates of rides were on the day of the ride. Included were the phone # of the ride. On July 19,1997 TEVIS, DEER CREEK, BEAVER MEADOWS & HIGH COUNTRY were listed. The print was dark & bold so it was easy to read.
Bye Hope
