Just an FYI on freezer storage of feed. There is no air
circulation. ie: Anaerobic decomposition byproduct of molasses is cyanide
crystals which are lethal. First symptom is death. On standard post
mortem death cause may be ruled "unknown". This may lead to multiple
deaths. When the feed in the bottom was finally fed it spelled
disaster for some unfortunate "well fed" horses we know of. Also molds can
form you may not see, again due to the lack of air circulation down low.
We use metal garbage cans punctured with nail holes. Keeps those
nasty critters out, but limited to small quantities.
