[RC] Tevis Thoughts - Ridecamp Guest

As the ride is starting and everyone is heading out, I am finding
myself as jittery as if I was in ride too.  Partly because I was
planning on participating up until two weeks ago (had to pull 
last minute due to Shaba's unexpected muscle pull) but also 
because some of my riding friends are entered and I am really 
hoping they have a good ride.  I am not getting all amped up over
this particular ride in comparison to any other 100 because I 
think it is any better than the Swanton or Virginia City or BH, 
but because it is on my 'stomping ground', so to speak, and I 
train on some of the course, so I feel a little more connected to
it...I wish a good ride to Kathy Sherman and her daughter Tara, 
both of whom are riding the Tevis for the first time (Tara is one
of the juniors; good luck to you!!!) and also Frank Smith, a
veteran who has already finished this course several times with 
his mule Batman and, barring any unforseen circumstances, could
probably do the ride blindfolded LOL....I will be up at Robinson
Flat later this morning to cheer everyone on..may your horse's 
footing be good, your saddle not slip and may your ride not end 
till Auburn....wish I was riding with you.
