You get an avid microchip with a wallet card (dl size), laminated, with photo(part of reg) of your horse, owner information, and microchip id information. Proof of ownership for any ag stop with a scanner. Also, if your horse is lost or stolen, you call the 800 number and ATHA notifies the local cops and ag people and auction places and stuff.
