RE: [RC] Proof of Ownership - Val NicosonThe American Trail Horse Association (ATHA) also
brands horses without a need of having a "personal"
brand. They also have a Mileage Program available.
Their website www.americantrailhorse.com states that
few will know about personal brands and who they
belong to. With the ATHA they keep records of the
brands used on various horses. Assuming they use some
kind of numbering system.
I too have a grade horse. Somewhere in my files I do
have a proof of sale. But I too need to consider to
get her branded as Proof of Ownership should I ever
need that protection. Although she has her own
personal scar on one hip that makes her easily
identifiable...not sure what happened as that's part
of her past before I bought her...wonder if that would
be sufficient to identify her as mine? Hmmmm.
A trail riding friend who does barrel races, does the
standard QH type of rides, etc told me about this
website.
