For those
dealing with the heat for the first time or those who need help anyway, there
is a great product by Knudsen called Recharge. It is not the chemical crap like
Gatorade/\Poweraid, etc. It is Water, grape juice, lemon juice, sea salt; that’s
it! I fill my water bottles with ice, then with Recharge. Good stuff! I prefer
the lemon flavor over the orange or fruit flavors myself.
Good luck
everyone!

Hi All,
Raven
& I are down at my dad's place in Greenwood getting ready for Tevis! We
rode from the 49 crossing to the finish today. Raven had some trouble with the
heat. Oregon has had so little warm weather & no hot so Raven hasn't had a
chance to acclimate to these temperatures. Tomorrow we pre ride Foresthill to
49. That is if the river is low enough to cross! Hopefully we can
get Raven dealing with the heat before the big day! Anyway, we
are number #222 this year....fitting since we came in 22nd last year. You can
follow the webcast on the website if you'd like. http://www.foothill.net/tevis
Onward.........
Sue
Walz & Raven....the 100 mile Kentucky Mtn Horse!
