This particular group of notes has to do with developmental orthopedic disease and feeding young stock. Everywhere where it says "grain", I'm referring specifically to a grain ration formulated specifically for broodmares and foals, ie Omolene 300 or the like. Hope it's helpful. Hi, I;m looking for advice related to when to offer a foal a creep feeder that the mare can't get too. I have a mare who gets a lot of beet pulp with a couple pounds of grain, twice daily. Her foal has really devoped a taste for the soaked beet pulp slurpee feed and now mom is getting pretty aggressive about saying "I don't want to share". Foal is 9 weeks old so I don't want to start other problems with too much, too soon.
