Hello Sara....I usually never post to ridecamp, only read and learn! Everyone 
else has answered your questions very well anyway and what's that saying?? the 
only stupid question is one not asked?? Anyway what I wanted to comment on was 
the sponge thing..make sure you have that line attached correctly as it can 
cause a significant problem if you don't. My very first 50 at Biltmore I 
thought i had that line tied but over the course of the first loop it had come 
loose and when I jumped off at a water tank my foot got caught up in it. We 
were quite the sight with one foot still up on the saddle stuck and my other 
foot on the ground and Renegade looking around at me like what the heck are you 
doing?? Anyway he was good as gold and stood still until someone came along and 
helped me get untangled and that came from riding alone and relying on each 
other!! Needless to say I had a torn groin muscle and ended up having to pull 
after about 30 miles..UGH!! Simply couldn't go any further...What's that other 
saying "if you're going to be stupid 
you better be tough??  Right!!!   Sharon
