Re: [RC] Tying to the trailer vs Bungees et al. - Zephyr Arabians--- Jonni <jonnij@xxxxxxxx> wrote: Again, what works for one, might not work for the other. But *I* feel it is healthier and to my horses benefit to be tied long enough to lay down, eat off the ground etc. when attending distance rides. Ditto. :) I learned "how to tie" riding NATRC in the 80s. And I still do it the same way. My horses can lie down, roll, move around, eat from the ground (after tossing hay out of their bags), etc. I've never had a horse get tangled or loose when tied to the trailer (knock on wood!). I do plan to buy Hi-Ties/Spring-Ties when we get around to replacing the 1977 trailer. We don't really want to put a whole lot of money into that old trailer (other than keeping it safe on the road), and tying to the trailer is working fine. The discussion on the safety of the overhead-ties with/without modifications has been helpful, thx guys. ~Nicole Zephyr Arabians http://www.zephyrarabians.com KattWmn Web Design http://www.kattwmn.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
