[RC] Tying to the trailer vs Bungees et al. - Jonni

I have taught my horse to tie at home, with a rope long enough for him to eat hay that is on the ground (you know, the hay he flipped out of his hay bag, and now has decided it looks yummy) and long enough he can lay down if he wishes and rest well after a days ride. Not everyone feels this is safe for THEIR horses. That is fine. I also like the fact my horse can stretch his back by eating off the ground.  And, the longer ropes, allows the horse to move around a bit more than being tied "short". Now, add a overhead tie arm, and the horse can really move around as he feels fit, and not just restricted to a small area, as far as his shorter rope will allow. Again, what works for one, might not work for the other. But *I* feel it is healthier and to my horses benefit to be tied long enough to lay down, eat off the ground etc. when attending distance rides.
