One of the interesting things is that the vet-in pulse is actually more likely to be high than vet check pulse. Our horses seemed to be excited to be at ride camp, but after 10-30 miles settled down and their pulse's went down. The vet-in pulse does not matter in scoring.

PS: I was reminded, gently, that the UMECRA no penalty pulse is 36, not 40.
