[RC] Headtossing - JulienneHave you ruled out photic sensitivity? My first gelding was a headtosser - had chiro done, xrays taken, ridden in a light hackamore.. and he still shook his head and we couldn't find the source of the problem. Finally we were able to deduce that the headshaking was much worse on very sunny days. I rode him with a fly masks which blocked a lot of the UV rays and that helped quite a bit. More info on headshaking: http://www.jadwin.net/horse/head-right.htm Here's the face mask (kinda funny looking, but helped): http://www.horsemask.com/Main.html Is he a chestnut? Photic headshaking seems to be color coat related according to some of the articles I've read.. chestnuts seem to have a propensity towards the affliction.
