RE: [RC] Western saddle for a sausage - Ranelle RubinIf she can find a Skyhorse endurance or a Skyrider, that WILL work! I have started 3 young "sausage-backed" horses with this saddle and had absolutely no issues. With the young horses I have had to use a crupper until they have developed withers, especially on steep downhill trails. I'm not joking. He's a Rocky Mountian horse who is built more like a barrel than any horse I've ever seen. She really wants to find a western type saddle that will work on him for trail riding. I was wondering if any of you out there have found anything that works on a horse like this??? She's currently using a "Wintec Wide" with the widest gullet.
