There is a product on the market called Revolution
for cats and dogs. It gets rid of fleas, ticks, ear mites, protects
against heart worms and cures mange in dogs. One application lasts one
month as well.
It is supposed to be sold by prescription only from
a vet and costs, through the vets in my area $14.95 a dose for cats
which lasts one month. That is a little pricey for my brood, but I found
it on line for $51 for 6 doses which is a little better. I had to order
all the way from Australia as my vet, since he sells the product, would not
write a prescription for me to use on line. He had no problem selling me
the product to use on cats he's never seen, but wouldn't write the prescription
so I could provide some relief for my animals that I can semi
afford.
So far it is working as stated for fleas,
ticks and ear mites. I don't have anything with mange and I don't know if
it really protects for heart worms. Just getting rid of fleas, ticks and
ear mites is enough for me to pull the plastic out once a month and wait for
that Australian shipment.
