[RC] Press Release: American Endurance Rides: The Ultimate Guide - TypeF \(Jackie Floyd\)
Dear Endurance News Groups and AERC Committee
Members:
This is just to let you know that production of the
new book "American Endurance Rides: The Ultimate Guide" is well underway and
scheduled to go to press the first week of July. If you haven't heard about it,
you can check out the website at www.enduranceguide.com . We are very
proud to say that a portion of the proceeds will benefit AERC.
It is not too late to submit ride stories and
articles for the editorial part of this book. If you would like to contribute
something, please email us at info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with 600-1200
words, and if you'd like, a picture of yourself and your favorite endurance
horse. The story should be a nice description of your favorite ride and why it
is your favorite. If you have an educational article you would like to
contribute, the specs are the same.
Authors of stories and articles chosen for the book
will receive a copy of the guide as payment.
The book has gotten great response so far. Julie
Suhr has written the forword and guest authors to date, include among others:
Barbara White, Michele Roush, DVM, Dave Nicholson, DVM, Les Carr, Karen Chaton,
Maryben Stover, Angie McGhee and Vicki Greene, with articles on multi-days,
the Tevis, Mustangs, Juniors, the XP philosphy, etc. U.S. Rider Motor Plan www.usrider.org has endorsed the
book.
There was not a great turnout for ride photos from
my original request so it looks like there will not be any photos from regions
other than the West at this point, unless they start pouring in.
AERC membership will be notified via postcard when
the book goes on sale as well as being available online at Amazon and Barnes
& Noble. This guide is scheduled to be updated on a yearly basis since we
all know that ride managers and rides change from year to year.
Please check out the vendors who have purchased
advertising space in the guide at http://www.enduranceguide.com/vendors.html .
If you are a vendor, there is still time to get an ad in the guide. There are
several black and white pages left, but only one full page color ad and one half
page color ad available. Remember that it will be sitting on riders' dash
boards, desks or coffee tables for a whole year!
