Re: [RC] HELP! save my trees! - Barbara McCraryIf it were my problem, I would nail on one vertical slat on the tree, then nail on rabbit wire, folding the sharp edges under. Nail the wire onto the slat.....that will reduce the number of staples that would be driven into the tree. Nail the slat on with two nails, rather than numerous staples. Then nail the staples onto the slat. Rabbit wire is tough and has smaller grids than chicken wire. We have a barn beaver, and that surely stopped him from eating away the barn!
