I don't think the saddle plug on ridecamp was out of line. To me, it sounded like a sponsor congratulating a job well done. Maybe the saddle maker/distributor feels like they are part of the rider's "team". As Steph mentions these are folks trying to make a living. Anyone who read that post and thinks that a saddle, or for that matter, actually any particular piece of tack was responsible for the Top Ten placing should really re evaluate their thinking on why that horse finished so well.
And now, for my shameless plug. Congratulations to the four "TR" (Trailrite) horses and their owners that finished the Californios 100. Three out of the four completed the Californios 100 as their first 100 mile ride. Not a bad start to their 100 mile careers considering the difficulty of this ride. Charlene Lewis puts a great start on these horses and kudos to the owners/riders for taking these horses to their potential.
