HI chip,

Not really sure the Why part, but there's a procedure that is cheap and easy
and is starting to be used more more... A vet puts a marble in the uterus (
no surgery required) from then on the Mare's body "thinks" she's PG and no
longer comes into season until the marble is removed.
something to think about if there's not any other reason besides being a
cranky mare :-)
