Depends on the mushroom. There is a near relative to the mushrooms that 
you buy in the stores called a horse mushroom that is happy in horse 
s***t.... like a lot of us!  It looks like a regular store bought 
mushroom but bigger and it turns yellow when you cut it. Quite yummy.

I was 20 before I found out that people bought mushrooms. Both my 
parents were avid mushroom hunters and many of the best were found in 
the pasture behind our house after a rain.
