[RC] re: rough trot - Cindy CollinsBig time dittos to my fellow ridecampers...I know you're probably under pressure from QH folks that a 2 yr. old should be ridden, but most endurance folks do not believe in breaking horses to saddle until almost four years of age or older. You can do so much damage that you won't even realize for years. I'd pony this colt for the next year, not ride him. I don't advocate lunging a youngster, either...too much torque and if you want him to be an endurance horse, you want him to move forward on the trail, so ponying is great. Also, once he's older, consider dressage as a beginning for him. Good luck!
