Re: [RC] QuickSilver - a nervous mom's story - kazevedoGreat ride story Sandy!! Congratulations to your daughter for completing the Quicksilver 25-- with ease it sounded like!! There were quite a few Katies there I noticed! I rode along side a Katie for a short time who was 16 years old (she was really nice and was riding a tall grey horse, but I've forgotten his name), and I'm 19 years old and a Katie as well. (good name, good name <g>) That was neat that your family lives so close and got to sleep in your own beds, I bet that made a difference. And you said you ate dinner at Fuel and Feed, well how funny is this: Mom and I were driving to the ride camp friday night, and since I had just ruined the bag of beet pulp by leaving it in the bed of the truck a night that it rained (smart one, eh?), I was keeping my eyes peeled in case there was a feed store on the way to ridecamp. Well, I saw the sign "Fuel and Feed" and I guess since it had the word "feed" in it, I quickly pulled over and dashed across the road... lol, as I got closer I noticed the array of lighted beer signs in the window. Wouldn't it have been really funny if I walked in there and asked "Hi, do you carry beet pulp?"... <sigh>. Congrats to Dick and Katie, and I hope that your horse is sound and doing well. Sounds like you were a great chearleader and crew; your daughter's very lucky!! Good luck and have fun this ride season- you guys sure have nice trails to train on!
