Re: [RC] The old "drop and spin" arrghhh! - Larry & Helen McMasterHere is how I stopped my mare who had dumped me many times with the 'drop and spin.'We went pretty slow for a while, and every time I felt her look at something that caused her to tense up, I would tighten my hold on the reins - if she lowered her head, she would bump her nose (I used the little S hackamore). Because I ride with little contact, I use to let the reins slide through my hands when she dropped her head - had to force myself not to do that! She basically punished herself, and it only took a few bumps for her to learned to shy with her head up. When I stopped flying forward, she stopped spinning. She still would shy at stuff, but it was not so extreme. Helen -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
