[RC] human electrolytes - Linda Deweeshttp://store.yahoo.com/ultrafit/succeedcaps.htmlI know the answer to this one!! I run ultras (I did the Bishop High Sierra 50 mile yesterday - yeah! - and it was HOT!) and I have learned from other runners that Succeed Electrolyte caps work well. (The website is above) I tried another electrolyte capsule before, but it didn't have enough sodium. These do, and they have some sort of buffering agent added. I take 1-2 per hour and drink plenty of water or gatorade. It's so easy to just take a pill (as long as you remember to do it!) Have them within easy reach. I think electrolyting is so interesting. Dehydration is a subtle thing, and that probably applies to horses too. When it starts you can still keep going, but you don't feel so strong anymore. Then you start feeling queezy and tired. It's hard enough to judge in yourself, besides in your horse. If only horses could talk and tell us how they're feeling or where it hurts! That's what makes endurance riding so tricky, and it seems a lot harder to manage then just taking myself for a run. (I'm a beginner at endurance riding) This site also has other products that you can add to your water and drink. I haven't tried them but I know other runners use them. The guy who developed them is an ultra runner. Linda Dewees =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
