Re: [RC] [RC-Digest] Vol: 03.2640 What type of training - Chipnml

Okay, would someone please tell me when my horse is going to get over the "kid in the candy store" feeling and settle down for the first 20 miles?  I've been waiting for that breakthrough for 13 years!  LOL.  I switched from doing CTR my first year to endurance because I figured I wanted at least the last loop or two of my ride to be pleasant.  In retrospect, I REALLY wish I had spent more time doing dressage in addition to CTR.  That's what I did with my first endurance horse, and although he was a powerhouse on the trail, he also knew how to back off the bit, and I could rate him MUCH easier. I have a very strong background in dressage...I just got lazy with Cheers and didn't do my basics, which I promise to do with my next horse, and maybe get rid of my nick-name "The Horse Hollerer."
