[RC] How long did it take? - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Diane Roby diane_roby2002@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== It took me 4 years and 3 months. I had horses as a kid but at 17 they were sold and it wasn't until 4 years ago that I got a 2 year old Arab gelding and learned of endurance. Well he didn't work out (no time to train). So I've been through several other horses, an ex husband (jealous of them) and finally did my first LD ride at the Cougar Prowl in March this year. I'd do more this year but I'm finally working on finishing my MBA and am raising my 13 year old non-horse riding daughter and have a new job to boot. We will do another 25 in June and then do our first 50 miler in September. All of these are well within easy (less than 2 hours) driving distance and weekends I don't have class. To stay motivated I devour ride stories! I love reading about them and living vicariously through others. I do get out and ride 4 days a week, one of those being my dressage lesson and the other a long trail ride on Sunday. Codee stays in good shape for our slow competitions. I have no desire to race at this point. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
