[RC] Running on too much adrenalin - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

What I would guess is that she has run into a "hole" in her horse's training.
She has a highly conditioned, athletic horse, who is doing well at her own
pace. Now she is being asked to do something she doesn't want. Just like a
human she gets "hot under the collar" and production goes down. The horse is
already conditioned so it won't take much work to keep her at this level. It
would be a good time to cross-train. Go back and fill in the "holes".
Lots(100's)of gives to the bit, half halts, and three speeds at the walk, three
at the trot, and three at the canter. When she does this consistently in a
calm setting (yes, the dreaded arena!) Then do lots of it on the trail. If
there are any centered Riding instructors near by they have a nice way of
putting the rider and horse in sync without elevating stress levels.
