Fw: Re: [RC] TV Program about Endurance riders and wildlife encounters - Renie M burnettRiding down a little path through the forest near Butte Meadows, California and heard something climbing up a tree. My horse and I stopped and looked up to see a small bear cub peering down at us; as I slowly realized what it was, my thoughts went "Baby bear" and, looking at the downed cedar log, saw Mama bear and two more cubs and rapidly the thoughts went "Oh, s**t, MAMA BEAR!!" We did a perfect rollback and headed back up the path at a gallop and didn't look back. However, the most unusual "wildlife" sighting I ever had was when crossing a creek one hot day, my horse jumped and spun and I got quite a look at a totally naked, good looking young man standing in the creek about 12 feet away. We exchanged greetings and I rode away with a very red face. And the most awe-inspiring sight was the Golden Eagle flying alongside my horse and I as we galloped up our favorite hill; my horse rolled his eyes at it and it stayed with us until we reached the top. Maybe it had a nest nearby...Renie #1673 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
