Weather was very warm during the day and very
humid. Rained hard the night before the ride which left the trail soppy and
muddy in many places. The mud and humidity added a challenge to a ride
that is already a challenging ride to begin with. 75 miler was won by
the Leighsa & Randall Francis (tie), the 50 miler won & BC by Elroy
Karius and the 25 miler, I can't remember (sorry). It rained again the next
morning for the breakfast but most didn't mind. There was some awful wrecks on
the first mile of the LD in which several riders went down and we
had several loose horses causing havic on the trail for others. It was a
hair-raising experience for many of us on a narrow single-track trail. But one
of my daughters did her first ride with her new Paso Fino and got 1st Junior and
Junior BC!! Now she is hooked!
