Just a funny in this communication thing: Our gelding had been alone for some time when we bought a little mare. After giving them some time to get to know each other across a fence, we turned them out together and they got along quite well. I was standing near the gelding and describing to the husband one of the interactions where the mare squealed and stomped her foot and doing my best imitation to show the husband how it went. The gelding jumped back and stood staring at me with a surprised look on his face. It was funny to watch.
