RE: [RC] [RC] ? To Tie or Not to Tie - AgilbxrI had a friend at a dog show lose an eye while bungee tying a dog crate into her truck. She was stretching it and dropped it, it came up and caught her eye. I now use those red tie thingies that you have to clamp. They are a pain in the rear, but no one I know has lost an eye to them. As far as tying horses, an old innertube from a semi truck and a couple of really good ropes with big bull clips works for me. We taught a 16.2 hand TB mare who'd never even been halter trained at age 4 to stand tied. After she'd stand at the tree, then we used a stretchie lead rope to train her to stand at the horse trailer. It had some give, but was strong enough to hold if she sat back. She's now doing Prix St. George dressage in Atlanta, so I guess we did something right starting that one... Juli and Alpine (I had nothing to do with the mare...I got the heck out of dodge when she acted stupid) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
